To start off, we are looking at the Master of Body Horror himself, David Cronenberg’s 1977 Rabid, and comparing it to the 2019 remake done by the Twisted Twins, Jen and Sylvia Soska. It’s Canadian Horror at its finest!
We discuss three major themes in Cronenberg’s Rabid: body horror (definitions and origins), science satire (mad scientists!) and vampirism (sexuality and gender inversion). We then compare and contrast it with the 2019 version.
